The Surgical Drill is delicately placed over the entry point and lightly pumped up and down until the cortical plate is penetrated.
The optimum final drill depth should be determined by the density of the bone. As a general rule the depth should not exceed one-third to one-half the threaded length of the chosen MDI. The desired depth is the minimal amount that allows one to begin the auto-advancement of the implant into bone.
